Padappai in Chennai is now making sensational news for this reason!!
It has been announced that for the first time in Padappai in Chennai on 5th March 2023 the Jallikattu would be held. In this Jallikattu event, along with 501 bull tamers would also be entering the field.On the occasion of the Pongal festival, Jallikattu event is being held every year normally is known to us.
The SC order has led to some delay in organising this jallikattu event but now due to the efforts of the TN govt the event is being held smoothly. By Jallikattu event , we would be normally reminded of Alanganallur or Palamedu or Avanipuram etc in Tamil Nadu. This event was also conducted in many villages but never in a metropolitan city like Chennai till now.
The protest that took place at the famous Manina Beach in Chennai some time back was responsible for the Jallikattu event to be conducted again is known. There has been a question in the minds of many people regarding whether this important Jallikattu event would be conducted in Chennai or not. Now the answer for this question is that on 5th March jallikattu would take place in Padappai in Chennai.
Mr. TM. Anbarasan, minister for TN Small and Micro Medium Enterprises spoke about how on the occasion of the CM of Tamil Nadu Mr MK Stalin`s 70th birthday celebrations Jasllikattu would take place at Padappai in Chennai on 5th March 2023.
He added that in the jallikattu event, as many as 501 best bulls and a bull named after the chief minister would be making their presence felt. By this upcoming Jallikaatu event in Chennai, the long term longings of Chennai residents would be satisfied. Now, discussions are going on to provide insurance to the bull tamers who would be taming the bulls.
