A new handy facility for Chennai is to be Metro Rail Passengers - getting tickets through WhatsApp on the mobile phone - is to be introduced shortly in Chennai Metro City!
The Chennai Metro Rail project was executed with the main objective of the severe traffic congestion in Chennai Metro City.
Around 1.8 to 2.0 Lakh passengers undertake travel daily in the Chennai Metro Rail corridors. Presently, there are avenues of Passenger cards and QR code systems for Metro Rail passengers to get tickets.
In this situation, the Chennai Metro Rail authorities are planning to introduce the facility of getting tickets through WhatsApp using the Mobile Phone!
The Chennai Metro Rail Company Director, Rajesh Chaturvedi, shared:
"The facility of getting tickets through WhatsApp on the cell phone is to be introduced shortly! The WhatsApp number of Chennai Metro Rail will be given. This is a common number of the Chennai Metro Rail Company.
On sending an SMS message `Hi` to this number, a message, `Chart Boat` will be received. On this, fill up the details of the passenger`s name, starting Metro Station and destination Metro Station, and send the fare through WhatsApp, or GPay or U-Pay. The ticket will be sent to the concerned WhatsApp- number.
This is a daily ticket. Show this ticket at the Station Entrance QR code Scanner and then travel on the Chennai Metro Rail! You can show this ticket while getting out from the destination station as well!!"
