Sudden inspection by the state food safety department
The state food safety department has taken a new step to ensure the quality of food supply at mid-day meal centres. For this, the department took samples from meals served at these centres and have also inspected the centres for their cleanliness, environment, food preparation, etc.
The reason behind this inspection is the mishap at Bihar few days before, where twenty three children were dead. Further to this, all government schools are instructed to engage themselves in filing reports about maintenance of proper hygiene and cleanliness at these centres.
