Why has this marathon in Chennai grabbed the attention of many?

On Sunday, the health minister of the state of Tamil Nadu, Mr. M. Subramaniam hogged the limelight when he flagged 11th edition of Hexaware Dream Runners Half Marathon 2022. The sensational piece of information is that the health minister even took part in the half marathon. It must be noted that the marathon was held after a long gap of 2 years due to the Coronavirus infection. Many from corporate as well as public companies took part in the marathon. What was amazing was the fact that atleast 25% of the participants were women. It is worthy to note that the event had the highest number of women pacers ever witnessed in Chennai.
The Hexaware Dream Runners Half Marathon would be tremendous for the amputees as they would use the funds collected to procure prosthetic limbs. In addition, many women who have been victims of burns or fire accidents etc would also be benefited. Point is that the race ended up with ploggers clearing up all the streets.
In the 21km marathon run for men, Manikandan came first and he clocked 1 hour 11 minutes and 45 seconds. In the 21km marathon run for women, Sandhya Sanker came first and she clocked 1 hour 50 minutes and 30 seconds. Information is that in the 21km marathon run for senior`s men, Mr. Charan Singh came first and he clicked 1 hour 26 min and 32 seconds and in senior women, Asha Rajini came first and she clocked 2 hours 25 min and 52 seconds.
