Since the onset of summer, there have been unannounced power outages in many parts of Tamil Nadu. There were several hours of power outages in several districts of Tamil Nadu last night that made the traders, students, homemakers and other working-class people suffer. Students preparing for the public examination were especially unable to prepare for their examination. Working people who came home to rest after work were unable to sleep due to the power cut. In twitter, the tweets about the power cut in the state went faster and people questioned the reason for the power cut.
Minister Senthil Balaji then explained the reason for the power cut. He said that the power outage was due to the blockage in the supply of electricity that comes from Central Electricity Authority (CEA). Around 750 Mega Watt (MW) of electricity coming from the central sector to the southern zone was cut off. He added that immediate steps have been taken to manage the power outage. The state government also plans to make purchases from the private sector until the situation gets back to normal.
