Know about these new plans for Tambaram locality that would be coming up!!

In the monsoon season, flooding in Tambaram and in the nearby places is always an issue.
It is worthy to note that the Tambaram Corporation is having plans to clean all the lakes filled with aquatic plants. The SWD or storm water drain is not placed at 100m in Vaniyamkulam and this has been causing flooding in the residential places here. There are plans to build SWD in several places in and around Tambaram and just a few days back a meeting took place between Mayors and deputy mayors of Chennai and Avadi flood control regarding this issue.
The superb news is that in 2022 in the monsoon season Tambaram and nearby places will not get flooded. For nearly 25 years, the underground drainage project has been pending here. Soon, the underground drainage project would be restarted from scratch. This was mentioned by Tambaram Mayor Vasanthakumari.
The issue regarding the contract would be resolved as a new tender would be floated soon. Information is that the entire Tambaram Corporation would be covered under the underground drainage project. There would be pipeline replacement here as the old one was 20 years old. The state would be funding the project.
Traffic congestion in Tambaram has been creating issues for the residents and motorists etc here. To decongest the traffic, the flyover in Tambaram would be extended. The shopkeepers have been given notice and they would have to vacate the place they had been occupying till now.
It is well known that Tambaram is one important locality in Chennai but the fact is that residents here do not get the basic amenities also. There are several issues like water scarcity, bad roads, lack of streetlights etc here. It is now revealed by the Mayor of Tambaram Corporation that in another 5 years every area here would be developed equally.
