Sensational news about the second phase of Chennai Peripheral Ring Road

To construct the second phase of Chennai Peripheral Ring Road or PRR in the engineering, procurement and construction or EPC mode, Larsen & Toubro has now got an order from TN Road Infrastructure Development Corporation. From Thatchur on NH 16 to the beginning of Tiruvallur bypass, L&T would construct a 6-lane Greenfield Highway of 12.80km in section-2 of 26km phase-2.
It was revealed by a release that there would be flexible pavement, 2-lane service roads, paved shoulders on both sides of the carriageway at-grade intersections, major and minor bridges, vehicular, light vehicular, small vehicular underpasses and culverts on the highways. These would be maintained for a period of 7 years.
Tata Projects limited has bagged an order to build phase-1 of the Rs 2100 crores CPR Project from Northern Port Access Road linking Ennore Port with Thatchur on the Asian Highway- 445.
Point is that the first phase also includes building the link road to Chennai ORR from Northern Port Access Road.
