The Swimming Pool at Marina Beach is to reopen after a long gap of 2 years!

The swimming pool at Marina Beach (Chennai Metro City) had remained closed for nearly 2 years due to the raging spread of the coronavirus pandemic waves 1 & 2!
This Marina swimming pool is located at the popular spot of Marina Beach. This is owned by the Greater Chennai Corporation (GCC).
The swimming pool was operating from 5.30 AM till 8.30 PM daily.
Especially during the summer season with scorching heat, and during the weekends, thousands of citizens visit this swimming pool!
This swimming pool was renovated in the year 2009 at Rs. 70 Lakhs. This swimming pool is maintained by private agencies on a contract basis.
In this scenario, the Greater Chennai Marina Beach swimming pool is being reopened today (Saturday, 2nd April) after a gap of 2 years.
As summer has already started with unbearable heat faced as a hardship by the citizens, it is expected that there would be a large crowd of youngsters and children at the Marina Swimming Pool until May!
