Another new Paravai that is making news now in Chennai city!!

We all know that in the Tamil language, the bird is known as Paravai!!
Now, another Paravai is making sensational news. To rehabilitate young first time offenders, the Greater Chennai Police in association with the prisons department and social welfare department have launched an initiative called Paravai or bird.
On Monday, 28uth March 2022, Paravai scheme was launched at the city police commissionerate jointly by Madras HC Judge Mr. P.N. Prakash and police commissioner of Chennai Mr. Shankar jaiswal.
It must be noted that TN State Legal services Authority as well as NGO Prism would also be playing their roles in this. The main purpose of this Paravai initiative was to help youngsters who were addicted to the drugs/liquor and have become offenders. They would be provided counselling to come out of addiction etc. They would be assisted with legal aid and would be given training in technical trades to lead a new alternative life after coming out of prison.
