Polyclinics re-opened again in Chennai to treat the residents

Soon, getting specialised care in the evening hours would be possible as the GCC has re-launched polyclinics in Chennai city. It must be noted that GCC had closed the polyclinics in Chennai due to the Coronavirus pandemic. At 40 locations in Chennai, polyclinics are reopened now and these are urban primary health centres.
It was mentioned by an officer belonging to GCC that the residents can get specialised treatment including general medicine, dental, ortho, ENT etc free of cost. From Monday to Saturday, the polyclinic would function from 4:30 pm to 8:30 pm.
At the polyclinics, medical care under dermatology, gynaecology, paediatric, physiotherapy, psychiatry and ophthalmology etc would be provided. Places in Chennai where the polyclinic would function are Tiruvottiyur, Pudupet, Madipakkam, Adambakkam, Saidapet etc. It is now said that the concept of polyclinics have been implemented as evening clinics and that was due to the fact that doctors at UPCS would not work in the evening.
