Holiday announced on Saturday for all TN Govt schools

To increase the active participation of the parents in the development of the schools, the school education department in TN would be revamping the school level management committee. This would be carried out in all the 37391 government schools. On 20th March 2022, an awareness meeting would be organised for 52lakhs parents of the school students.
The teachers as well as head masters must be present compulsorily in the government schools on 20th march Sunday. This was according to the school education department. For this reason, Saturday has been declared a holiday for the government schools.
Mr. Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi, school education minister explained how the state government is revamping the school management committees under Right to Education or RTE Act. A parent would head the 20member committee and a parent of a special child would be the vice-president.
The committee would also have volunteers, members of self help groups, representatives from local bodies etc. Mobile app was launched by the school education minister yesterday and this app would be useful in creating school development plans for individual schools. From this app, it would be possible to gather information regarding student�s enrolment, retaining students, improving infrastructure etc. In addition, the app would also be useful for planning, implementing and assessment of development plans etc.
