Beginning from 1st of February 2022, the equipment that was developed to calculate the electricity bills of the consumers would be used on a trial basis. It was later mentioned by some officers belonging to TNEB that to calculate the electricity bills of low voltage consumers an intelligent mobile microprocessor was designed. The testing of this new device was carried out at technology headquarters and it was highly successful.
It must be noted that the chairman of the EB has given approval to use this new mobile microprocessor to calculate the electricity bills of the consumers. This device would be provided to all the assessors or kanakeettalar in Tamil. To carry out the work, as many as 27 assessors have been selected from Chennai, Kancheepuram, Krishnangiri, Vellore and Dharmapuri power distribution circles. These 27 assessors would use this newly designed device to calculate the electricity bills of the low voltage consumers from 1st of February. The circuit managers have been issued USB cables and these would be provided to the assessors.
On 31st January, through email, the newly designed mobile microprocessor belonging to APK type would be issued. It is worthy to mention here that to make this test effort a huge success the managers have been advised to provide training to various assessors regarding calculating the electricity charges by using microprocessor in association with the technical division headquarters.
If there is any issue or glitch, then it must be reported immediately to the technical division headquarters. Once this becomes successful in the power distribution circles, then the microprocessor would be made available to the public and arrangements would be made.
It is well known that TNEB is a power generation and distribution based company belonging to the Tamil Nadu government and it was established in 1957as Madras State Electricity Board.
