Extended holidays announced for students of classes 10 to 12 in TN!!

The Coronavirus infection seems to be relentless!!

The number of cases in Chennai and in Tamil Nadu has been increasing every day and many people are getting affected. Many persons are getting treated in hospitals, Covid care centers etc

In this scenario, the Tamil Nadu government on Sunday 16th of January had announced holidays for the students studying classes 10 to 12 till 31st of January.

It is known that the direct physical classes were stopped for the students of classes 1 to 9 in TN in the first week of January but offline classes continued for the students belonging to the classes 10 to 12. The main aim was to vaccinate these students of classes 10 to 12 and prepare them for the upcoming board exams.   

The release from the state government mentioned that due to the surge in the Coronavirus cases all classes including classes 10, 11 and 12 have been given holidays till 31st January.

It is important to mention that the revision examinations for the students belonging to classes 10 and 12 were set to begin from 19th January. Point is that these revision examinations were also postponed. The dates when the revision exams would take place would be announced later.

As a backup for the board examinations, the school education department had planned 2 revision exams, one in the month of January and another in the month of March. It is known that no reference marks are available for the current batch of students belonging to classes 10 and 12.
