An important announcement from the TN Government has come out now!!

On 30th June 2016, a new medicare scheme was launched by the government for providing free medical treatment for those working in the government and also for their family members etc. This caught the attention of many at that time. In this medical scheme, an amount up to Rs 4lakhs would be provided for medical treatment and a maximum amount of Rs 10 lakhs would be provided for those who needed treatment and surgery for certain diseases and health issues.
Now, the TN government has made an important announcement regarding the implementation of this new medicare scheme. The government has sent orders to implement this scheme starting from July 2021 to 30th of June 2025.
It is now brought out that dependents of government employees like sons and daughters would also get benefitted under this TN employee�s medical scheme. Point is that the age of sons and daughters would not be taken into consideration for providing free medical treatment to them. Soon, an order would come into effect regarding this.
It must not be forgotten that in the Assembly meeting in the Secretariat in the month of September 2021, the CM of Tamil Nadu Mr. M.K. Stalin mentioned that a separate telephone helpline would be set up for the government employees to make use of this important medical scheme without any issues. The government of TN has approved this scheme to provide free medical insurance to the heirs of the government employees. This has made many employees of the Tamil Nadu government feel happy now.
