As the Coronavirus cases and new Omicron variant cases are increasing in India, many states have announced night curfews now to control the infection spreading from one person to another.
The Central government has now announced that health workers and various frontline staff who have got 2 doses of vaccination must be administered with a third dose. This third vaccine dose must be of the same type as their previous 2 vaccine doses.
In the month of December 2021, the PM of India Mr. Narendra Modi took many by surprise when he announced that the health workers, frontline staff and those above the age of 60 would be given a third vaccination dose also from 10th January 2022 to protect them from the deadly Coronavirus infection. Truth is that the central government held discussions regarding whether to administer a new vaccine dose or administer the previous 2 doses as the third dose of vaccination for the beneficiaries.
On Wednesday, Mr. V.K. Paul belonging to Nidhi Aayog Association had mentioned that various health workers, frontline staff and those senior citizens above the age of 60 (with or without co-morbid conditions) must be administered with the 3rd dose they had before as their first and second doses.
