Posted on: 07/Jan/2022 10:00:12 AM
The omicron variant of Coronavirus infection has been spreading with full force now across India. The fresh cases have been increasing alarmingly now. The people are now in a state of shock due to the rise in the number of Coronavirus cases.

For some time the number of fresh cases were reducing in India but with the arrival of Omicron etc in the last 24 hours the fresh cases have crossed 90000. This has now set the alarm bells ringing.

It is worthy to note that there are now as many as2630 Omicron cases in India. In this scenario, additional secretary, Health and Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Arti Ahuja has written letters to the states of TN, Punjab, Odisha, Bihar, UP, Uttarakhand, Mizoram, Meghalaya and Jammu and Kashmir plus Union Territories etc. In the letter, she had mentioned that the increase in the Coronavirus cases is highly worrying. In this situation, the number of Coronavirus tests done have reduced. It would not be possible to find out the exact number of Omicron affected persons by the reduced number of tests.

Wirth Omicron variant spreading rapidly, it is essential that the testing must be done in the initial stages itself. So, the number of tests must be increased now and Omicron variant cases must be monitored closely. The letter also pointed out several measures that would have to be taken to control the spread of the Coronavirus infection. Point is that sufficient stocks of testing kits must be kept always plus there must also be sufficient testing centers, equipment and testing staff etc.
