Chennai residents must be very careful now as Covid-19 is increasing faster than before.
On Wednesday, 5th January 2020, Chennai had 5593 Covid-19 active cases. It must be noted that on 31st December 2021 Chennai had 2403 active cases only. This has clearly shown that the number of active cases have doubled in just a week of time in Chennai. It is true that the GCC has increased the number of samples tested per day.
Adyar zone topped with as many as 718 fresh active cases followed by Teynampet zone with 702 active cases. Kodambakkam had 646 active cases and was followed by Anna Nagar with 559 active cases. In north Chennai, Royapuram zone had as many as 556 active cases. As many as 370 active Covid 19 cases were identified in the Valasaravakkam zone. North Chennai based Tondiarpet zone had 268 active cases, Ambattur zone had 367 active cases. Zones like Alandur, Perungudi and Sholinganallur had as many as 247, 208 and 189 active cases respectively.
The zones such as Tiruvottriyur, Madhavaram and Manali in north Chennai had 122, 116 and 33 active Covids-19 cases respectively. In the Chennai city, more than 5.66lakhs of Covid-19 cases have been reported till now and of those 5.52lakhs have recovered.
