As an immediate preventive measure to check and prevent the raging third wave of the coronavirus pandemic and its variant Omicron spreading fast and wide throughout the country with increasing intensity, the State Government of Tamil Nadu has announced the imposition of curfew during the nights!
� Further, 100% lockdown conditions will prevail on Sundays!
� Only 50% of the capacity will be allowed for use in the hotels, eateries, kitchen/dining halls, and hostels and other lodges and as such, only 50% of the customers will be able to eat.
� Functions like weddings and associated functions can be held with a maximum number of 100 guests/citizens!
� In the events related to death, the gathering MUST not exceed 50 persons!
� In the textiles and jewellery shops, only 50% of the customers to be allowed inside the shop premises!
� In the case of the entertainment centres and clubs, gymnasiums (gyms(, and the associated eateries, they MUST function only with 50% capacity!
� In the case of the physical fitness centres and Yoga Centres, at any given time, they MUST function only with 50% capacity.
� As regards the movie theatres � Cinema theatres and Multiplexes � spectators will be allowed only to occupy 50% of the seats available!
� In the case of the outdoor sports and open playgrounds, permission is given to conduct sports events/competitions strictly adhering to the coronavirus prevention guidelines given by the Tamil Nadu State Government.
� As regards the indoor sports centres, the physical training classes and games will be allowed while strictly following the corona preventive guidelines. Even the sports competition is allowed to be conducted BUT WITH 50% spectators!
� As regards the community halls for conducting seminars, conferences, music or dance programmes, the programmes are allowed to be conducted BUT WITH ONLY 50% spectators and strict adherence to the coronavirus preventive guidelines!
� As regards the beauty parlours, hair-dressing saloons, and Spas, they are allowed to function BUT WITH 50% spectators/participants.
� sp; The other activities which are already permitted will be allowed to continue with strict adherence to the corona preventive guidelines.
� As regards the Sundays, the Public Transport and Metro Rail WILL NOT FUNCTION! On Sundays, only parcel service will be allowed for the hotels and eateries from 7.00 AM to 10.00 PM.
� The food-delivery organisations will also be allowed to function on the same timings � 7.00 AM to 10.00 PM.
� There will be no permission to open the electrical and electronic shops,
� On weekdays and on 9th January, own or hired cabs/taxis can be used for travel up to the bus terminus or Railway Station or the Airport. But note that while availing this, the concerned passengers MUST carry the travel tickets!
