Tangedco would take severe action if multiple connections are provided under the same name for household connections!!

It has been found that many households in Tamil Nadu have multiple electrical connections under the same name. The latest news is that Tangedco or TN Generation and Distribution Company has warned that strict action would be taken hereafter. In this regard, a letter was sent by the chief engineer belonging to the business division of Tangedco to all chief engineers.
It was mentioned that inspite of advising many times multiple electricity connections are being provided under the same name belonging to a household and this has been going on.
It was said that the chief engineers belonging to the Distribution Division have been instructed to conduct a series of inspections on the low voltage electrical connections under the same name.
The letter also mentioned about the 3 month time notice that should be sent to the consumers who have not consolidated the electricity connections and have not converted it to high voltage connection. Point is that departmental action would be taken against the officers responsible if multiple connections were found on the same household under the same person.
It is well known that Tangedco was established in the year 2010 and is a public sector undertaking owned by the Tamil Nadu government.
