Important information about the special buses that would be operated for the public for this upcoming Pongal festival!!

The Pongal festival is fast approaching!!
It is well known that Pongal is an important festival in the state of Tamil Nadu. Many people go to their native places to be with their families and friends for the Pongal festival.
On Monday, 20th December 2021, Mr. R.S. Rajakannappan, minister for transport took part in a meeting at the Secretariat in Chennai. The meeting was attended by transport secretary Mr. Gopal and transport commissioner Mr. Natarajan. The transport minister mentioned that special buses would be operated for the public travel for the Pongal festival
It is learnt that from 11th to 13th of January 2022 as many as 10300 special buses from Chennai and as many as 6468 special buses from various other places would be operated.
From bus terminuses present in places such as Koyambedu, Tambaram, Poonamallee and K.K. Nagar etc, special buses would operate for the sake of the public to help them to go to their native places in Tamil Nadu. For the passenger�s convenience, there would be buses from Koyambedu to 4 other bus terminuses in Chennai. After the Pongal festival gets over, many would be returning back to Chennai and for them as many as16709 special buses would be operated.
