More than 50,000 vaccination camps were organised across Tamil Nadu on Sunday. The mega vaccination drive went on well just similar to the previous mega vaccination drives. At these vaccination camps yesterday, a total of 18.21 lakhs of doses of vaccines were administered to the public. Across Tamil Nadu, 11.48lakh second dose were administered and 6.72 lakh first dose was administered.
It must be noted that the health minister Mr. M. Subramanian made his presence felt in Thiruvottiyur zone vaccination camp and asked the public who were due or overdue to get inoculated.
It is learnt that currently 39.535 of eligible persons in Tamil Nadu have been vaccinated with both the vaccine doses. With atleast one dose, atleast 75.75% have been vaccinated. Truth is that vaccinations are 97.5% life saving and the health minister has urged the public to get vaccinated.
Information is that till Saturday, the first dose has been administered to 4.321 crores of people and the second dose to 2.17 crores. A list was prepared by GCC regarding those who are due for vaccination and these persons have been brought to the vaccination camps yesterday. It is known that the previous mega vaccination camps were highly successful and many got vaccinated for Covid 19 infection.
