The festival of lights or deepavali or diwali is round the corner!!
People celebrate this superb festival with sweets. On Monday, the State minister for dairy development, Mr. S.M Nasar grabbed many eyeballs when he launched 5 new sweet varieties developed by Aavin for this upcoming deepavali and started the sales.
The minister launched sweets like Kaju Katli (250gms for Rs 225), Natti Milk Cake (250gms for Rs 210), Moti Pak (250gms for Rs 170), Kaju Pista Roll (250gms for Rs 270) and Coffee Milk Burfi (250gms for Rs 210). The surprising piece of information is that the combo box of these 5 sweets of 500 gms would be available for Rs 425. It must be noted that in 2020 Aavin sold 15 tonnes of sweets and it got a profit of Rs 1.2 crores. In this year, Aavin has planned to sell 25tonnes of sweets and is hoping to get a profit of Rs 2.2crores.
It was later mentioned by MD of Aavin Mr. K.S. Kandaswamy that Aavin has set a target of increasing the sweet sales by 50% this year when compared to 2020. It is known that Aavin was founded in 1958 and it is a statutory corporation under the ownership of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying.
