Reservations for Deepavali travel in government buses commence today (4th October)!

This year (2021), Deepavali falls on 4th November.

It is traditional for a large number of citizens and their families to celebrate this most important festival in their native places visiting there!

This year, Deepavali falls on a Thursday. The next day (Friday) is also very likely to be a holiday. This is followed by the weekend of Saturday and Sunday! As such, there are 4 successive holidays this year!

Accordingly, a large number of citizens have reserved in the trains. It is also gathered that the announcements regarding the Deepavali Special trains will be released shortly! Quite a large number of citizens are waiting for the announcement on Deepavali Special trains.

In this scenario, arrangements have been made for reservation/booking in the Government Express Buses as well! As such, this reservation is set to commence today (Monday, 4th October).

Special government buses are to be organised from Chennai, Coimbatore, Trichy, Madurai, Salem, Thirunelveli, etc.,

As it is traditional for a very large number of citizens to travel from the Chennai Metro City to the various southern districts, there are prospects of operating more than 4000 buses this year as well as was done last year!

However, Transport Department Officials have shared that so far, no decisions have been taken regarding the operation of special buses for Deepavali.
