Sensational!! Over 10 lakhs persons have applied for smart ration cards in just 5 months in TN!!

The food supply department had revealed that in just 5 months more than 10lakh persons have applied for smart ration cards in TN.
It was brought out from May till September in TN as many as 1054327 persons have applied for the smart ration cards. Out of these, 728703 applications have been accepted and 261844 applications have been rejected. It must be taken into note that new smart ration cards have been issued for 665102 applications. Printing of 63601 smart ration cards has been going on.
In south Chennai, a total of 67051 persons have applied for these smart ration cards and 36815 applications have been accepted. As many as 12754 applications have been rejected.
Smart ration cards have been issued to as many as 27829 persons and printing of smart ration cards has been going on for 8986 persons now. Out of 55962 persons who have applied for the smart ration cards in north Chennai, as many as 28624 applications have been accepted and 10741 applications have been rejected. Smart ration cards have been given to 24234 persons and for 4390 persons printing of these cards has been going on.
In the last 5 months, from the districts of Coimbatore and Salem 65003 and 59495 persons respectively have applied for the smart ration cards.
