Fantastic!! Increase in the number of seats in the govt Arts and Science Colleges in TN

This piece of news would bring huge happiness on the faces of many students!!
From this academic year, the TN government has increased the number of seats by 25perecent in the government Arts and Science colleges. In this regard, the higher education department has issued a government order or GO.
From the GO, it was clear that for enrolling the students in the additional seats, the colleges must get permission from the universities to which they are affiliated. Every year, the TN state government would normally increase the number of seats by 20% but in this year more seats have been provided due to higher demand for studying in the government colleges. There are 143 Arts and Science colleges in TN and for these colleges more than 3 lakhs students have applied. The total number of seats available in these government colleges is just 1.06lakhs
There has been an increase in the number of students applying for the government Arts and Science colleges this time and this is due to the fact that almost all the students have passed. This move would have a huge advantage for the economically weaker sections. This was according to Mr. Veeramani, president of TN Government Collegiate Association.
