Income Tax Department extends the deadline for filing Income Tax returns!

The Income Tax Department has released a detailed announcement extending the deadline date for filing Income Tax Returns on various fronts.

The last date for payment of Income Tax has been extended until 30th September under the scheme, ‘Vivadh-see-Viswas’ with special consideration to solving all the prevailing tax issues!

It has been further explained that payments of Tax can be made with a penalty until 31st October.

The date for investment in Provident Fund has been extended from 31st July to 30th November and the time for investment in the Gold Bond Scheme has been extended from 31st October to 31st December!

GST Council has decided last May to offer concessions to those who have not filed the GST returns from July 2017 to April 2021. As per this, the central Ministry of Finance had announced the reduced penalty paymentt for the delay in filing returns of GST on 1st June!

It had been announced earlier that this payment must be made before 31st August. Now, the date for paying the penalty has been extended until 30th November.

As there were problems encountered in the new Website of the Department of Income Tax, there were issues faced in filing the Income Tax Department. Subsequently, the Department of Income Tax has extended the date for filing the Income Tax returns.
