GEM Hospitals Noble Initiative to Celebrate 75th Independence Day

To commemorate the 75th Independence Day of India, the entire Doctors’ team and all the staffs of GEM Hospital have pledged to donate their organs. The noble cause was initiated in the presence of Dr. Sunil Shroff – Founder & Managing Trustee, Mohan Foundation, a non-governmental organization started to promote organ donation in India.
Dr. Sunil Shroff congratulated the GEM Hospital management for creating public awareness on organ donation with such a large number of donor registrations on the annual celebration of our nationhood.
On the occasion, Dr.C.Palanivelu, Founder & Chairman, GEM Hospitals said, “A public campaign to raise awareness on organ donation, which is a priceless gift of life for someone in emergency, is always high on our agenda. The support and energy of our GEM Hospital team who volunteered to pledge their organs is commendable and without them, this noble initiative wouldn’t be possible”.
“Over the years, a huge number of casualties occurred in India due to the unavailability of healthy organs which could save lives. We believe that our noble initiative will inspire and urge people to make a generous decision and pledge their organs. A big-hearted donor can save the lives of upto eight individuals and even more in some cases”, the Chairman further added.
As a part of the 75th Independence Day celebrations, the elevation of GEM Hospital building in Perungudi, Chennai will be illuminated with tricolour for three days.
