In Chennai, Tangedco staffs now face unique issue from residents itself

Erratic power and voltage fluctuations have become part and parcel of the lives of Chennai residents. Truth is that new transformers and cables are regarded as the solution for the above said issues.
Normally, utility agencies do not face hurdles while doing the infrastructure work but Tangedco staff are facing a unique issue. The shocking news is that the residents are not allowing the staff to install pillar boxes and transformers in localities having many voltage fluctuations complaints.
It is learnt that the workers belonging to CMWSSB have been able to do their work easily on the roads of Chennai now as they don�t face hurdles from the citizens. Now, the staff of Tangedco are upset regarding this issue. In those localities where Tangedco has taken up the work of shifting overhead cables underground, the issue of residents not allowing the staff to do their work is more.
Information collected is that as a part of the Rs 2567 crores project new transformers need to be installed and old cables must be replaced in both core localities as well as in the suburban localities of Chennai. In suburban places like Perambur, Velachery, Avadi, Tambaram etc shifting of overhead cables underground needs to be carried out.
