Information about the extension of the current lockdown in Chennai and TN

Currently, the state of TN is under total lockdown to control the spread of Covid-19 infection. The number of positive Covid-19 cases has increased unimaginably in recent times in Chennai and in TN and due to this total lockdown has been imposed from 10th to 24th May.
Now, the people in Chennai and TN are having doubts regarding whether this total lock down would be extended or not as the number of daily Coronavirus cases have not reduced that much.
According to Mr. M. Subramanian, health minister of TN, whether lockdown would be extended or not would depend on the number of Covid-19 positive cases. A decision would soon be taken based on the number of cases. He threw light about how the facilities to handle the pandemic are being improved constantly.
It is learnt that Mr. J. Radhakrishnan, health secretary and various officials have been in contact regularly with 8 district administrations having a high number of cases.
