Tamil Nadu State Government orders Anna University to conduct a re-exam for engineering students

The State Government of Tamil Nadu has directed the Anna University on Monday 10th May to conduct RE-EXAMINATION for the engineering students who appeared for an online proctored test in February.

Engineering Colleges have complained that the pass percentage in the exam was low due to the multiple-choice-based questions.  The university has withheld the results of many students. Following the complaints from the students about the test, the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Stalin conducted a review meeting with the Higher Education Minister K. Ponmudi, Secretary Apoorva, and officials from Anna University on Monday (today, 10th May).

Giving due consideration to the hardships encountered by the students, the State Government of Tamil Nadu directed the university to conduct the re-examinations for the students who appeared on the proctored tests in February. More than 4 Lakhs students took the online exams then.

A release from the State Government of Tamil Nadu observed on this issue: �Students who have passed the February test can appear for the retest if they wish! The online exam will be conducted for 3 hours like in other universities. Exams for the next summer will also be held in the same pattern!�

Note: Students need not pay any exam fee!

The State Government of Tamil Nadu also announced that the exams for the college students would be conducted from 25th May! The release further said, �The announcements will be released by the respective universities and students are requested to prepare for the exams!�
