Unscheduled power cuts at night

Residents of some parts of Chennai have been experiencing unscheduled power cuts from 10 pm to 1 am. This has been happening over five days now.
�It disturbs the sleep. Even if they cut power for four hours in the morning, it wouldn�t matter. But with children and elderly people at home, it is difficult, when TNEB cuts power during the night�, said a resident of Kodambakkam. �Severe voltage fluctuations in their area had affected the functioning of the air conditioner and the fans too, and now there unannounced power cuts to boot�, a Ram Nagar resident said.
�Unscheduled po�wer cuts had been imposed at night in Koda�mbakkam, Virugamba�kka�m and Vela�chery for the last few days due to a fault in the 110 KV line between Guindy and Velacherry substations. �The fault has been rectified and normal power supply will be restored from tonight�, said a TANGEDCO official.
