In Chennai and in TN the number of Coronavirus cases are increasing slowly now!!

In this scenario, on Sunday, the health secretary of TN Mr. J. Radhakrishnan cautioned against laxity or slackness among public and officials in taking measures to control the spread of Covid-19 pandemic. He was busy in allocating 300 beds for Covid-19 patients at RGGGH in Chennai.

He spoke about how there has been some laxity among some officials and he asked not to throw away the gains that were achieved in the past due to effective control measures. The 3 Ts Test track and treat strategy are very important for controlling the spread of the Coronavirus infection. Mr. Radhakrishnan threw light on how the officials have been strictly asked to implement these 3 Ts now. It must be noted that 9 districts in TN had TRP higher than2% and now just 5 districts have TRP of more than 3%. Point is that for every person who has been tested positive for Covid-19 infection field workers have been asked to test atleast 30 of their contacts.

IIT-Madras has developed ITIHAS software and it is now said that this software is also used to proactively identify the potential hotspots. Information is that more cases were reported in clusters in the apartment complexes in this second surge of cases. The health secretary later threw light on how the public must wear facemasks and maintain social distancing compulsorily. Working from home option must be considered now. People who are eligible for Covid vaccination must get vaccinated at the earliest to avoid or to prevent spreading of the infection.

It is important to mention here that the TN government would not create panic amongst the public by taking sudden decisions about imposing another lockdown now. Truth is that the situation now is much better with the availability of adequate health infrastructure and vaccines etc.
