NO lockdown now in Chennai as of now - GCC new plans for the COVID contaminated 158 Chennai streets

Till recently, the number of Coronavirus cases were kept under the control in the Chennai city.
Now, the cases have been increasing in Chennai and there are as many as 158 streets that have got 3 or more than 3 Covid-19 cases. Point is that GCC is implementing a microplan for these streets. The containment measures have been intensified at 20 wards that reported many Covid-219 cases.
According to Mr. G. Prakash, Chennai corporation commissioner, in the 158 streets with 3 or more Covid-19 cases disinfecting of streets is being carried out plus the movement of people is restricted. Microplan has been implemented in these streets in Chennai. He added that a higher number of cases have been identified in 20 divisions. Soon, these divisions would be disinfected and the residents would be vaccinated on priority.
The Chennai corporation commissioner made his presence felt in several parts of Chennai yesterday and he inspected the containment measures. The Covid-19 cases have become more now in Chennai due to the second wave and he assured that the GCC would be taking many measures to contain the infection as fast as possible.
From around 150 daily cases a few weeks back, the number went up to 395 on Wednesday in Chennai. It is learnt that inspite of having the capacity to vaccinate as many as 60000 persons per day just 25000 get vaccinated every day. More residents must come forward to take the vaccination shots. The truth is that around 40lakhs in Chennai must get vaccinated and then only it would be safe. Just around 4lakhs persons in Chennai have been vaccinated till now. Vaccination for Covid-19 is available at 140 PHC and walk-in vaccination is allowed in these. Half of the people in Chennai have got antigens and there would not be any necessary to have another lockdown.
