Legislative Assembly Elections in 5 states: How foreign-based Indians can vote?

It has been announced that all the Indian Citizens who have gone abroad for education, jobs, or other reasons can register as a voter in India with the address given in the respective passports.

Visit any of the website: 
www.mvsp.in OR the election commission`s www.eci.nic.in and download the form �A� and submit after filling up and attaching the requested documents/certificates to the Election Commission.

This form can be obtained free at the Indian Embassy of the country. In case of sending this filled form by post, attach 2 self-attested copies of all the requisite documents to the Voter Registration Officer.

In case directly submitting, the passport must also be submitted just for verification of the details.

After receipt of the above application, scrutiny/check-up will be undertaken by the concerned officer visiting the house address given and verification, these names will be included as voters ina special exclusive section �Foreign Voters�

NOTE THAT NO VOTER ID WILL BE GIVEN TO THE FOREIGN INDIAN VOTER! While voting by directly visiting the polling booth, the passport must be shown as proof!
