Proposal to link Aadhar Card with Voter ID under review!

The Central Government has declared in the Parliament that the proposal/recommendation of the Election Commission to link Aadhar Card with Voter ID is under review!
In a written response to a query raised in the Parliament session regarding this, the Central Minister for Law Ravishankar Prasad on Wednesday (17th March), it is mentioned: �To prevent a single voter registering in different constituencies, the Election Commission has recommended the linking of Aadhar card with Voter ID. This recommendation is under review with the central government.
To link Aadhar Card with Voter ID, certain revisions are required to be carried out in in the Election-related Legal Acts. The Election Commission has further informed that it has been undertaking various initiatives to ensure the safety of the Voter List Council�s operations and data.
Aadhar particulars will be used just to properly identify the voter. The Election Commission has informed that it is essential to prevent any hacking attempts on the voters� data. The Elections Commission is handling this with extreme levels of safety.�
In the year 2019, the Election Commission has recommended the central government to carry out the required revisions in related Election Law to seek Aadhar card data from the voter!
