Face masks mandatory in political meetings: TN Govt Health Secretary

The Health Secretary of the State Government of Tamil Nadu, J. Radhakrishnan, has appealed that wearing facial masks is mandatory during the political meetings/gatherings.
With the recent resurging trend of the coronavirus the pandemic spread in the State of Tamil Nadu, the Health Secretary has a session with the press reporters; He shared:
:� There are strong prospects of the coronavirus spread due to the political meetings/gatherings and family functions. Note that there has been a resurgence of the raging coronavirus pandemic in 19 states in the country! There is an alarming rapid increase in the spread of the coronavirus pandemic over the last few days!
In the meetings conducted regarding the ensuing Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly Elections, the political parties must emphasise their party members wear face masks compulsorily.
It is rather a pity that the public keeps wearing face masks only if the penalty is imposed! The public should have the coronavirus vaccination. It is rather alarming to note that in certain areas where the extent/impact of the raging coronavirus pandemic was less, it has become more during this resurgence!
The spread of the resurgent virus in the districts of Chennai, Thiruvallur, Kanchipuram, Coimbatore, and Thanjavur has been quite rapid and is posing a challenge!�
