Till a few days ago, the situation on the raging coronavirus pandemic was kept well under control and normalcy had returned to a great extent in the daily life-routine! However, since the last few days, there has been a resurgence of the spread of the raging coronavirus pandemic and an increasing number of cases affected with coronavirus are being reported in the State of Tamil Nadu!
Especially, there has been acute infected cases in the cities of Chennai and Trichy! There has been a 1.2% increase recorded over the last 10 days. As such, there has been an increase in the number of patients under treatment as well!
With this rather alarming development, the Chief Secretary of the State Government of Tamil Nadu conducted a meeting today (Tuesday, 16th March) with all the district collectors through a video conference.
Following the meeting, an order has been released that there would be a penalty for the citizens NOT WEARING THE FACIAL MASKS!
Further, the Chief Secretary has ordered that organisations which do not follow the guideline in this regard MUST ALSO BE PENALISED!
Accordingly, the public needs to wear face masks and must follow the guidelines. A penalty will be levied in case of failure to wear masks. The number of treatment camps must be increased, affected persons to be identified and treated. The patients under isolation in houses must be strictly monitored as done last year.
