The Central Government has planned stringent action such as payment of hefty penalties to the Organization which contact prospective customers through the phones and offering loans and later harass them.
A high-level meeting was recently organised in New Delhi presided by the Central Minister for Telecommunication and Information Technology, Ravishankar Prasad.
During this high-level meeting, issues such as sending frequent SMS to prospective customers on their cell-phones offering loans and then harass them and also frequent telemarketing calls to the cell-phones, etc. Further, the complaints made by the above call receivers were also discussed at length. Subsequently, a decision was taken to award stringent penalties to the Organization making disturbing telemarketing calls. In case the harassing calls continue even after stringent penalties, the central government will act to disconnect the concerned telephone lines.
Further, another decision was taken to set up a �Digital Detective Squad� to prevent financial maloperations using the telecommunication faculties.
During the meeting, the central minister advised the officials of the respective departments to take immediate stringent action on the telemarketing agencies who harass the customers and agencies floating unwanted commercial info and even individuals who indulge in such things.
The Minister further explained in this regard that there are plenty of instances where the hard-earned public money is duped by adopting the latest telecommunication facilities and there are large-scale frauds! He further shared that clear-cut instructions have already been given to the concerned officials to take immediate stringent action to prevent these happenings!
