The procedure of the online change of names in the property ownership deed has been extended to 10 more districts including the districts f Villupuram, Vellore, and Thiruvarur.
The State Government of Tamil Nadu implemented the nine registration of property by introducing the software STAR 2.0 in the year 2018. With this, the State Government of Tami Nadu approved and released an order accordingly to the system of online. Computerised approval by the Registrar while registering the change of name of the ownership of the immovable assets where there was no need for the Survey Number Internal registration.
This new procedure was adopted in a trial basis in the Registrar offices at Chengalpattu District. Subsequently, this online facility has been extended to 10 more districts.
In a circular in this regard released by the President of the Registry, it is mentioned:
The name of the person who handed over the immoveable property and all the names of the earlier owner as mentioned in the nine data regarding this will be compared automatically and if found ok, the Registrar can approve the same online. On the other hand, if the names as recommended by the dead owner on the heirs and the name f the person selling this property do not match, THEN IT IS WRONG TO CARRY OUT THIS REGISTRATION.
Following the Chengalpattu registrar office where this new online procedure has been already implemented first on a trial basis and then regularized, this automatic name changing owner registration online has been implemented in 10 more districts - Perambaur, Karur, Dindigul, Sivagangai, Tirupur, Dharmapuri, Ranippettai, Villupuram, Vellore, and Thiruvarur - from 2nd February 2021.
If it comes to the notice of the President of the Registrar Department that if any registrar has been acting against the government intentions, stringent disciplinary action will be taken on them!
