The research efforts of creating a vaccine against the raging coronavirus pandemic have been in progress in Oxford University over the last few months. This vaccine will be manufactured by the pharmaceutical company, Astra Zeneca. They have joined with Serum Institute located in Pune, India.

Meanwhile, during the review after tests, it has been established that this vaccine builds up the immunity against attack by diseases for senior citizens.

The testing process was carried out among 560 healthy senior citizens. It was established after the test that the vaccine builds up protection against diseases better among the senior citizens as compared to the younger age groups  - in other words, the vaccine builds up immunity against the attack of diseases for the senior citizens.

One of the doctors in the Research Team, Dr Maheshi Ramaswamy informed that as the possibilities of coronavirus attacking senior citizens are more, this revelation is indeed encouraging!

In the next phase, which is the 3rd Phase of the Testing Schedule, analytical efforts are undertaken to establish whether this vaccine can protect against attack by the coronavirus pandemic. The results will be known in the coming weeks.

With the above developments and other research efforts in different parts of the world, the vaccines developed by Pfizer of the USA, the vaccine developed by Moderna, the vaccine Sputnik V developed in Russia and the vaccine developed by the Oxford University in London, UK have all turned out to be successful ventures.
