Many persons furnish wrong information about their names, mobile numbers, address etc out of fear of being detected Coronavirus positive and subsequent quarantine. The tracing and tracking these persons is not an easy job for the officials of the Chennai Corporation. For the sake of identifying the Coronavirus positive persons, fever camps were started by GCC.
The shocking piece of information is that nearly 35% of those who have tested Covid-19 positive in the fever camps have given wrong information about their names, address and contact numbers etc.
For tracing and tracking down the Covid-19 positive patients, the help of Covid-10 control room in the collectorate has been sought by the officials. Information is people give dummy phone numbers or any number that comes to their minds at the fever camps.
The officials spoke about how the lack of time to cross check the details given by people at the fever camps due to heavy workload was the reason behind the lapses
As on Wednesday, Vellore crossed 10,000 Covid-19 cases totally and more than 200 Covid-19 positive cases were identified on Thursday, the officials have warned that those who do not wear facemasks would be collared or forced for Covid testing.
It must not be forgotten that when fever camps were held near CMC Vellore many ran away on seeing the officials after the above warning.
To prevent malpractice, the officials now are mulling to ask the patients to come with their Aadhar card or voter card to the fever camps in Chennai
