Influx of people in Chennai after the e-pass norms relaxation- Regulations to continue till 2020

Posted on: 29/Aug/2020 10:01:14 AM
The Chennai Corporation commissioner Mr. G. Prakash has confirmed that after e-passes norms were relaxed Chennai witnessed an influx of 3.5lakhs people. This increase in the entry of people to Chennai has resulted in more number of Covid-19 positive cases now.

He then spoke about how everyday around 30000 to 35000 people enter Chennai and how home quarantine was a way to keep the infection from spreading. He added that keeping these people in a confined place for 14 days and testing for any symptoms was the correct procedure.

Truth is scientifically controlling if the infection was only possible and not the inflow/outflow of the people. Reduction of Coronavirus deaths has now become a major concern for the GCC.

When people have symptoms, it is a must that they must get themselves tested. This was as per Mr. J. Radhakrishnan, health secretary. He then highlighted that inspite of the breathlessness issue the people come for the testing at the last minute and they die within a day.

Point is these deaths could be avoided. Taking CT scans for Covid-19 would not be that beneficial when compared to testing as taking CT scans could make the people waste 3 to 4 precious days. This could lead to deaths. It must be noted that the people were scared of being quarantined for 14 days and hence they avoid testing.

Maintaining social distancing plus wearing facemasks and washing hands frequently must be practised to prevent Ciovid-19 infection from attacking us.  Till the end of 2020, there would be regulations and this was hinted by Mr. G. Prakash.
