Food delivery in Chennai to be affected now

Many residents belonging to Chennai city depend on the food delivery services these days as they find it convenient.
There has been some issue regarding the new wage policy in Swiggy. It is now said that due to this reason there seems to be uncertainty in the resumption of the food delivery services. It is of common knowledge that since Friday, 14th August, a section of delivery executives have been protesting against 50 to 60 percent incentive cuts.
These executives are likely to boycott work on Monday. By this, Chennai city would be affected for the 3rd successive day.
The increase in the fuel has been an issue for many now and the Swiggy executives have mentioned that the new wage policy was not economically feasible for them.
The delivery executives have highlighted that for every Rs 500 earned almost half the money gets spent on fuel. After spending on their food they just take now Rs 100 or Rs 200. Fact is in the past, they took Rs 1000 per day.
It was later revealed by a delivery executive from Royapettah that many degree holders take up the delivery jobs and many are waiting to take up this job if they did not agree to the terms.
He added that some were not given proper response from their managers. Swiggy spokesperson had mentioned that this issue would be sorted out soon.
The current situation in Chennai now is other food aggregators have been having huge demand and this has resulted in more delays plus higher charges demanded from the customers.
