Schedule for Tamil Nadu engineering admissions released, online registrations from today

On Wednesday, 15th July 2020, the state higher education minister, Mr. K.P. Anbalagan released the schedule for this year’s Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions or TNEA.
It is known that in June this minister had tested positive for Coronavirus and this was his first public appearance. Information is the online registrations of applications have started already and the students could apply for counselling by 16th August. He mentioned that the original certificates could be uploaded between 31st July and 20th August.
Processes such as verification of certificates, special counselling etc would be held online this time due to the threat of Coronavirus infection pandemic. Point is as many as52 TNEA Facilitation Centres or TFCs have been established to provide help for the students during online counselling.
Information is August 15th has been given as deadline by AICTE and it is now said that the counselling would be finished before this date. On 7th September the rank list would be released. Between 10th and 14th September, counselling for special reservation category students would be carried out.
As per the schedule, it was clear that the general counselling would take place between 17th September and 6th October. This year as many as1.47 lakhs engineering seats are available for the students in 500 colleges in TN.
