Banks will function today and tomorrow (29th and 30th June)
It has been announced that all the banks located in the areas under the jurisdiction of the Chennai Metro Police will function today and tomorrow (19th & 20th - Monday & Tuesday).
As a preventive measure to check and prevent the raging coronavirus pandemic, 100% lockdown has been in imposition in the 5th Phase from 19th June in the above-mentioned locations.
There are no customer services in the banks during the 100% lockdown conditions. The banks were allowed to take up only essential office-related emergency tasks strictly following the guidelines given for operating during 100% lockdown.
In this scenario, as these are the month-closing days, permission has been given to the banks to function with 33% staff with the customers� services available for the 2 days on 29th and 30th June.
