To prevent the home quarantine Coronavirus patients from going out and to prevent others from entering the infected houses, GCC would be pasting notices.
It must not be forgotten that in the past GCC pasted quarantine stickers at the houses of those persons who have come back from abroad, other states etc. These persons were kept under home isolation for 28 days irrespective of whether they tested positive for Coronavirus or not. The Corona positive persons must not venture out of their houses and this was as per the new notice
Any violation of rules by these home quarantined persons would be dealt severely, police action would be taken and this warning was issued by the new notice. In Chennai, currently, 3000 Covid-19 patients have been kept under home quarantine. Just a few days back, the new notices were printed and they were sent to respective zonal offices.
A zonal level civic official explained about how after getting orders from the senior officials notices would be pasted on the houses of home quarantine Covid-19 patients. Presently, many Corona virus positive patents (without symptoms) have been sent to Covid-19 care centres in Chennai.
It is important to note that Coronavirus positive patients whose houses are suitable for home isolation with separate rooms and bathroom are being kept under home quarantine.
Many complaints were received about the home quarantined persons venturing out of their houses. It is now said that this pasting of notices would prevent the home quarantine patients from coming out. Those who have been quarantined in the houses and buildings must not come out for a time of 14 days.
It is known that several days back, the GCC had relaxed containment zone norms to allow the residents to do their daily routines. Truth is only those houses/buildings where positive cases get reported are being turned to containment zones.
