Comprehensive Coronavirus testing policy from the health department

As many as 639 fresh Corona virus-positive cases were reported in TN on Sunday, 17th May 2020.
By this, the total number of positive cases went above 11,000. The health department has sent a comprehensive testing policy to the state government for its approval.
In Chennai, the total number of positive cases stands at 6754 now. On Monday, the testing policy would be announced and it would advise the district officials to continue testing all the passengers from other states. Point is those who test positive for Coronavirus would be sent for isolation and others would be advised home quarantine instead of government facility quarantine center.
It must be taken into account that over the weekend 170 persons who had arrived from states like Maharashtra, Gujarat, Rajasthan, AP, Karnataka, Telangana, etc tested positive. Truth is on Sunday nearly 12 percent who tested positive were from other states.
The influx of people coming back from other states has become a challenge now and this was according to Mr. C. Vijayabhaskar, health minister. In places like Karur, Salem, etc that did not have Corona virus-positive cases had many passengers from other states and they tested positive. This also happened in Sivaganga and in Virudhunagar.
The health minister later spoke about how TN has got testing kits, quarantine facilities, and isolation beds for the Corona positive persons. It is worthy to mention that till now as many as 1961 air passengers from other countries and 1696 train passengers from other states have been tested using RT-PCR.
