Total lockdown in 3 districts: Thiruvarur, Ariyalur, and Thanjavur District Collectors

As a major preventive measure against the spreading of the raging coronavirus pandemic, lockdown conditions have been imposed throughout the country from 24th March until 17th May. As such, lockdown conditions prevail in Tamil Nadu as well.

Despite this lockdown situation, some of the public tends to take their 2-wheeler bikes or scooters or 4-wheeler and roam around the roads/streets without any valid purpose!

Though the police stop them, levy penalties, and give some unique punishment, there is an increasing trend of such public roaming around and there is no indication this will reduce!

The impact and spreading of the coronavirus have been on the rising trend in the cities of Chennai, Madurai, and Coimbatore.

In order to avoid the public gathering as explained in the urban localities, 4days of 100% lockdown was imposed from 6.00 AM on 26th April until 9.00 PM on.

29th April and similarly, 3 days of 100% lockdown was imposed in the 3 districts f-from 26th April in Salem and Tirupur,

In a similar vein, the total lockdown was observed for 1 day in the districts of Cuddalore, Thiruvarur, Thenkasi, Villupuram, Nagappattinam, Thanjavur, and Ariyalur. T was also announced that the total lockdown will be imposed again.

In this situation, the district collectors of Thiruvarur, Ariyalur, and Thanjavur have announced that total lockdown for 1-day will be observed for 1-day tomorrow (Saturday, 3rd May).

Under 100% lockdown conditions, no one is permitted to venture out except Pharmacies, hospitals, ambulance, newspapers, and television channels employees.

It may be noted that no shops will be allowed to open including grocery shops, vegetable shops, and bakeries!
