More number of COVID-19 positive cases in Chennai identified by aggressive contact tracing

On Tuesday, 28th April 2020, atleast 11 persons (that includes one year old baby and 6 months old baby) tested positive for Covid-19 at Meenambalpuram in Mylapore.
The Chennai Corporation health workers are now involved in aggressive contact tracing. It was mentioned by these health workers that more cases are likely as they do aggressive tracing now.
It must be taken into account that first a woman who is a hospital staff got Covid-19 from a health care worker working in the same hospital. Point is after she tested positive then her neighbors and family members were tested. Information collected is out of 30 samples collected 11 samples tested positive for Covid-19 and more positive cases are expected through this source. It was later mentioned by a senior official that about 100 houses are in the containment zones.
It is important to note that every time a person tested positive for Corona virus then the contacts get traced by the officials belonging to the Corporation and police department.
A senior official of Chennai Corporation revealed that tracing happens at 2 level close contacts that included family and extended contacts like neighbors and their contacts etc. He explained about the importance to track the contacts she had met in this time period.
