The increase in Dearness Allowance given to the central government employees has been blocked! The raging coronavirus pandemic, spreading fast, far and wide, has affected more than 205 countries all over the world including India!
In India, 23,029 persons have been affected with coronavirus infection so far! 721 lives have has been lost! 5,008 persons have recovered.
Nevertheless, in order to prevent the spreading of coronavirus pandemic, lockdown conditions have been imposed until 3rd April.
In this situation, the increase in Dearness Allowance given to the central government employees has been blocked!
The increase in Dearness Allowance (DA) for the central government employees has been blocked until July 2021.
The Central Ministry of Finance has informed that the increase in Dearness Allowance will not be given for June 2020 and July 2021.
The Dearness Allowance due to be paid in January 2021 has also been blocked. This DA blocking has been done as a measure of the coronavirus relief activities. The Central Government has released an announcement that the Dearness Allowance will continue at the same rate as 17%!
A total of Rs. 31,235 Crores have been spent and given to 33.14 Crores poor people as per the financial assistance scheme for the poor announced earlier.
.The Central Finance Minister has informed that Rs. 16,146 Crores were given to the farmers and Rs. 3497 Crores were given to the construction workers.
It is also announced that the Dearness Allowance increase for the central government employees would be given from July 2021.
It is informed that there would be a saving of Rs. 27,000 Crores for the central government until March 2021!
